“Missing massive on-chain moves that could skyrocket your crypto returns can hurt. With Whale Alert’s brand-new Customizable Alerts, you’ll have real-time insights to capitalize on market opportunities. Never miss another market moving transaction ever again!”

Whale Alert is a blockchain tracker that is followed by over 3 million crypto-enthusiasts worldwide. It provides real-time alerts on large and interesting market moving transactions as they happen. With the new Whale Alert website crypto traders can now create their own personal Whale Alerts for over 100 different cryptocurrencies using powerful filters, making it the perfect tool for keeping up to date with impactful on-chain events. The website also shows new alerts faster than the various social media platforms as it is connected directly to the Whale Alert bot.

Why are Whale Alerts Important?

Big moves can have a profound influence on market sentiment and price as they can signal potential buying or selling pressure; if big whales decide to buy or sell, they can cause rapid changes in price. Large mints especially have a positive effect on market sentiment as they are often seen as inflow of new money into the market. For instance, huge 1 billion dollar USDT mints are almost always followed by an upswing in BTC price, so missing a large mint is a missed buying opportunity.

Bitcoin prices exploded from $62k to over $100k in the weeks after this large USDT mint.

Setting Up Your Own Whale Alerts

The Whale Alert website contains a new Alerts page which lists up to 100 blockchain transaction alerts without the clutter and spam that makes social media sites often hard to use. Users can set up their own alerts without the need for an app by clicking the “Customize” button, which opens up an overview of the currently active alert filters. The top filter is for the official Whale Alert bot and shows the alerts that are sent out by Whale Alert to its social media channels. Users cannot edit or delete this filter, but they can toggle the visibility in the feed and turn on/off browser notifications for the filter by clicking the eye and bell icons.

A subscription is required to set up your own alerts: head over to whale-alert.io and upgrade your account!

With Whale Alert’s new custom alerts, you can create your own alerts for over 100 different coins.

Let’s create a new filter for important stablecoin events. Stablecoins are an essential part of the blockchain ecosystem and changes in their supply have had a proven effect on cryptocurrency prices. This means that keeping up to date with large mints and burns is essential for any trader.

Start by opening the filter list by clicking the “Customize” button. Next we are going to click “Add Alert Filter” to bring up the filter options. For a filter name it is best to be descriptive and for this example we are going to use “Stablecoin Mints/Burns”. You can select a color to help you easily identify which filter caused the alert in your alert feed and since we are making a stablecoin filter we are going to use the color green.

Next we need to select a blockchain on which the coins we are interested in are available, but since stablecoins are cross-chain, we are going to leave the selection on “All”. This will ensure that the coins we want to track are filtered for all blockchains they are on. Whale Alert uses whitelists for coins, so you do not have to worry about fake coins showing up in your feed.

The most important stablecoins by far are USDT and USDC so we will want to track those. Click on the “Coin(s)” input field and select USDT. You can easily search for a coin by clicking at the top of the list. Next do the same thing for USDC.

For this example we are only interested in Mints (creation of new coins) and Burns (destruction of coins). Go ahead and click on the “x” next to “Transfer” in the “Alert Type(s)” section to remove it. Transfers are transactions in which coins are sent from one address to another, which is also very useful to track, but it is best to make a separate filter for that. Now click on the input field and select “Mint” and then do the same for “Burn”.

The final thing we need to do is select an alert threshold. This is the minimum value which a transaction needs to have in order to trigger an alert. Too low values will trigger a lot of alerts (the maximum number of alerts per filter per day is 100, users can create up to 10 custom filters), which will overwhelm your feed, but a too high number will make alerts very rare. For this example we will set the value to $50 million, which is high enough to prevent too many alerts from showing up, but low enough to get the most interesting alerts. Your filter options should look like this now:

Your filter should look like this after following this guide.

The estimated alerts per day indicated how many alerts we can expect for this filter based on historical data, but this is not guaranteed of course. Click on the “Save Changes” button to finalize and create the filter. Congratulations, you have created your first alert filter! Try creating other filters as well, for instance for large BTC or ETH transactions or PEPE and DOGE.

Available Filter Options

You can create up to 10 different filters for over 100 coins and various different alert types including:

  • transfer: transactions from one address to another
  • burn/mint: creation or destruction of coins
  • freeze/lock: transactions due to which coins are no longer accessible by the owner.
  • unfreeze/unlock: the opposite of freeze/lock
  • dormant: addresses that have been inactive for a long time that have become active again
  • fee: transactions for which a large fee was paid

There is a limit of 100 alerts per day per filter, so make sure you do not select too many options per filter. The “Official Whale Alert Only” button in the bottom left corner allows you to apply the filter to just the alerts sent out by the Whale Alert bot.

Enabling Browser Notifications

You can enable browser notifications by clicking the bell icon on your filter. This way you will never miss an alert, because for each new alert you will receive a pop-up notification, even if you do not have the Whale Alert website open. Make sure to allow the Whale Alert website to send you notifications in your browser settings and you may have to disable your adblocker for the website.

For iOS you will need to have version 16.4 or higher installed and use Safari. After tapping the bell icon you will be asked to permission to send notifications and you will also have to add the Whale Alert website to your home screen. Read more about enabling web notifications for iOS here.

Why Use Whale Alert?

A good trader knows what is happening in the market, both on- and off-chain and the new Whale Alert alerts page is an essential tool for any serious trader that wants to stay in the know. Traditionally Whale Alerts are posted on social media, but delivery times vary per platform (delays of up to 1 minute) and sometimes posts are rate limited or even outright deleted. In a volatile market, timing is everything and missing an alert by just a few minutes can be the difference between profit and loss. The latency is reduced to near zero on the new Whale Alert website, meaning that you will be among the first to know if a big move happens. Additionally, Whale Alert focuses mostly on large marketcap coins like BTC, XRP, ETH etc, but if you are interested in lower marketcap coins, you can now create your own filters with lower thresholds to make sure you catch the whale movements for those as well.

Whale Alert subscribers get access to:

  • Receive alerts faster than anyone else
  • Create your own custom alerts for your favorite coins
  • Up to 10 custom filters
  • Up to 1000 alerts per day
  • Access to high quality historical and live analytics and metrics for over 100 coins

Don’t miss the next big move; upgrade your account today and stay one step ahead of the crypto whales!”

Subscribers not only get access to customizable alerts, but also to advanced historical and live on-chain analytics and metrics for over 100 different cryptocurrencies, further empowering users with potential market changing information.
